Congrats to Adrian G. and Maryfer C., Room 15 Students-of-the-Month for September. Both have been coming to school every day with a positive attitude, a great smile, and a solid work ethic. Great job!

Our fall trip to Crater Lake is scheduled for next Tuesday, Oct. 16th. National Park rangers will be hiking us to the fire lookout on the top of Watchman Peak and leading us in some science-related activities down below. The weather is expected to be favorable. We need chaperones for this trip. If you’re interested, please let me know.

The Sams Valley Mini-Marathon is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 2nd. This 5K run is always an exciting and rewarding event. Nearly eight hundred 4th and 5th graders will be running down the dirt roads of Sams Valley! It’s one of the oldest running events in the state, and one of the largest in the region. If you’ve never witnessed The Mini, please make an effort to come out, either with us on the bus (we leave CPE around 8:45 a.m.) or on your own (but arrive early; parking is difficult to come by). The mascot dance-off and awards ceremony takes place around 10:30. Thanks to the extreme generosity of West Orthodontics in Medford, there is no fee for the event again this year.
