Thurs Sept 17

Let’s get straight to it. You have an 8:30 Super Sentences session in Google Classroom, but I’m going to try something just a little different. It ends with Super Sentences TEST in Classwork.

At 9:30 Groups Z & 4 meet and at 10:30 Group W & 7 meet in Zoom. We’ll be reading together an article about all kinds of crazy explorers including Columbus.

Many of you still haven’t logged into Lexia a single time., This is a requirement. If you haven’t already logged in and taken the pre-assessment, that’s a priority for today. It’ll be on your progress report tonight. Make sure you do a good job on it. If you slop through it it will take you much loinger to finish the program. You get to Lexia through Clever.

For history all you have to do is watch my video about Columbus. Nothing to write down today. You also need to fill our your PE & Reading Log. Remember, you need to complete 100 minutes a week of independent reading and another 100 minutes of exercise. Today is a “free choice” day for exercising, but you still need to report it on the PE log.

I’ve recorded another chapter of Boy. Please listen in. This is an especially good chapter!

Finally, please spend 20 minutes or more in Happy Numbers, 20 minutes and 20 minutes in Acellus Math Facts. Twenty minutes of each isn’t all that much compared to what you’d have to do if you were actually in class, so make sure you’re getting it done. These things will be on your progress report tomorrow night.

Finally, you have another homework math sheet. I want to say again that you can cheat if you want. You could just write down the answers that are on the key. You could just use a calculator. Or you could just not bother to do it at all. But if you cheat, you won’t feel good about yourself AND you won’t get better at math. You’ll end up paying for it next year when your middle school teacher makes you go back and do third grade math AGAIN! So work hard at it. Be dedicated to becoming a math superstar! Remember, you don’t have to turn it in. You don’t have to print it out. You can simply pull it up on your device and copy down the problems one at a time, checking the answer after each one. If you miss one, figure out what you did wrong before moving on to the next. Learn from your mistakes! If you’re not sure how to do it, scroll down to yesterday’s post and watch my math video.
