Upcoming Events in Room 15

Room 15 kids continue their busy schedule with a number of special events. On Wednesday the 26th we’ll be participating in the Talk About Trees program, which will be held in Room 16. It’s a nice lead-in to our Tree Plant field trip on Friday, February 4th. Students will take home a permission slip and a liability release form on Monday the 24th, but if you missed them, you can download them by clicking on the text. Thanks to a grant from the Oregon Forestry Resources Institute, there is no cost for this field trip. However, students do need to have a sack lunch, sturdy shoes for hiking, and clothing appropriate for what could be wet, cold weather. We’re also scheduled to do our second clean-up of Hopkins Street through the City’s Adopt-a-Street program on Friday, February 11th, at 12:45. Click here for a permission slip and here for a liability release. We need adult chaperones for both trips, so if you’re interested, please let us know.

Students will be performing their latest class plays this Friday beginning at 1:00 in the Music Room. We’ll begin with Pinocchio, starring Sal C. as Pinocchio and Austin P. as the narrator at 1:10. At 1:30 we’ll present Eagles Over the Battlefield, which stars Jenna H. as Thomas Jefferson and Martha B. as Ben Franklin. We’ll conclude with Lewis & Clark and Bird Girl at approximately 1:45. It stars Savannah S. as Sacagawea and Alex P. as Captain Clark. Family members are welcome to join us. In other news, Room 15 kids need to complete their current Book Clubs by Tuesday. The first draft of the 2011 Classroom Constitution should be out this week as well. It requires a vote from the legislature before being passed to the Senate later this week or early next. Finally, stay tuned for a new episode of the Room 15 News–coming soon!
