Room 15 Update for March 11

This week we say goodbye to our wonderful student-teacher, Mrs. Martins. As per her assignment from Southern Oregon University, she’s moving on to a second grade bilingual classroom in Talent.  Wish her well, won’t you?

Also this week, students will be taking their vocabulary test on Wednesday, a math test on Tuesday, and starting an independent novel project on Tuesday. The novel project must be completed by March 22nd, at which time they’ll be expected to pass an AR test. The students have a half-sheet explaining the project in their binders. In math we’ll be studying multiplication and division of fractions, which is remarkably easy (at least for students who know their multiplication facts). Here’s the homework for this week: Monday, Mar 11; Tuesday, Mar. 12th; Wednesday, Mar. 13th; and Thursday, Mar. 14th. We’ve hit the end of the trimester, so we’re busy tabulating grades and preparing report cards to go home on Friday, March 22nd.
