Halloween Week

CPE 4th and 5th graders enjoyed a beautiful day at Crater Lake National Park on Wednesday of last week. Check out the video for a glimpse, and click here to see a few additional pics.

Students will be heading out to Sams Valley Elementary on Thursday for the 39th annual Sams Valley Mini-Marathon. Parents are welcome to join us on the run and at the very least encouraged to come out to watch. Starting time is 9:30 a.m., but arrive early for good parking.

In class this week students will be wrapping up their current book clubs, putting the final touches on their explorer plays (which we’ll perform next week), and continuing our practice with multi-digit multiplication. Congrats to the Nerdy Monkeys–Kalli, Trinity, Elijah, Tyler, and Ryan–for winning our first Mathketball tourney of the year. Mathketball is our means of encouraging students to complete and return their math homework every day. Speaking of math homework, here it is for this week: Monday, Oct. 28th; Tuesday, Oct. 29th; Wednesday, Oct. 30th; Thursday, Oct. 31st.

School pictures are Wednesday, and Halloween is Thursday (students at CPE do not dress up, but we will spend our afternoon watching the cinema version of Roald Dahl’s The Witches, one of our book club titles this month).
