DARE Graduation

DARE, our drug resistance program through the Central Point Police Department, culminates this month with DARE Graduation on Thursday (May 8th) and DARE Day on May 23rd. Graduation is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in the Music Room. Students are encouraged to dress well for the ceremony.  Afterwards, be sure to stop by Room 15 to view your child’s signature on the Red Ribbon, which shows more than 20 years of anti-drug pledges!

In class this week we’re jumping headlong into our Oregon Coast Outdoor Education projects with tide pool research and our South Slough treasure chest. This will be our main focus for the rest of the school year.  In reading we’ll be selecting and trying out for our new set of plays, and in math we’ll be continuing our study of fractions. Be sure to utilize the student-created tutorials when studying at home. For example, this one teaches how to add and subtract fractions with like denominators, which is our subject of study on Monday. Here’s the homework for this week: Monday, May 5th; Tuesday May 6th; Wednesday, May 7th; Thursday, May 8th.
