Math Homework for Week of October 25

NOTICE: Mr. Lewis blew it on the homework! Monday night’s homework sheet asks students to do a step we haven’t yet covered in class.  If this presents a problem, have kids do the first row independently and the remaining rows using a calculator.  My apologies for the error!

Room 15 kids just completed a long unit on place value. We’re now squeezing in a quick unit on multi-digit multiplication, trying to complete it prior to Veterans’ Day. From they’re we’ll be moving into long division, geometry, and fractions. In all cases, memorization of the multiplication tables is absolutely essential for success. While many of our students are proving they know their facts during our Fact Car Rally Race sessions, others are still counting on their fingers. Such students need to be committing time at home to learning the facts. Here is the homework for this week: Monday, Oct. 25th; Tuesday, Oct. 26th; Wednesday, Oct. 27th; Thursday, Oct. 28th.
