Book Clubs & State Testing

It’s going to be a fast-paced three weeks in Room 15. Students are rehearsing their holiday play, A Christmas Carol, in anticipation of a performance the week prior to Christmas vacation. They’re also starting new Book Clubs. Students have a choice of reading The Witches, James & the Giant Peach, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, all by Roald Dahl. The Witches, is sometimes misunderstood and often under-appreciated, but it may be Dahl’s best work. If you have any concern about its content, please read along with us.

The kids are also taking their first round of state testing, so be sure to be consistent with attendance, nutrition, and sleep schedules. On top of all this, we’re busy finishing our Cafeteria Elves, preparing for a Dec. 14th School Board presentation, expanding our webpages, studying geometry, and much more. It’s perhaps more than we can accomplish in a mere thirteen class days, but we’ll be giving it a good shot.

  1. I love Roald Dahl. He is so creative and sometimes very funny so I hope like the witches, james and the gaint peach and/or Charlie and the chocolate factory.

  2. I have read the Roald Dahl book THE WICHES I think it’s a funny book, and it’s kind of gross in a lot of ways!
