Ripped and Ragged Roald Dahl Books

After twenty years of classroom use, my collection of Roald Dahl books look like they’ve been trashed by a Trogglehumper or crunched by a Vernicious K’nid. These sets of “tensbooks” –mini-class sets for reading groups– are essential tools when competing with video games to inspire reluctant readers. As students roar through The Twits and Fantastic Mr. Fox, get to know James, George, Charlie, or Matilda, or contemplate running from a K’nid or hiding from a Headmaster, their reading rate and enthusiasm soars. Our own Headmaster, Principal Davenport, has given the okay to ask for donations to replace Room 15’s ragged Dahl sets. On top of that, he’ll match your donations dollar for dollar.  If you’re willing to donate a few bucks, please send in a check made out to CPE with the words “Mr. Lewis, Dahl Books Project” on the memo line. Donations are tax-deductable. If you happen upon new or gently-used Dahl books at a garage sale or used book store, we’re happy to receive the books themselves as well. For more info call (664-3947), e-mail (mack.lewis@district6.org), or drop by the classroom.  Thanks!
