Forty-nine Pounds of Litter

Room 15 Rotters with their 49 pounds of trashRoom 15 kids collected 49 pounds of litter during our first Adopt-a-Street clean-up of this school year. Students competed in table-group teams to see which group could collect the most trash. The Flaming Dingos and the Nerdy Monkeys each scored 17.5 pounds. The Adopt-a-Street Clean-up is a community service activity through the City of Central Point. It’s also a lesson in street safety and, because we estimate and weigh our trash bags, a “real world” math lesson.  Special thanks to Mrs. Shook and Grandpa Dwayne for serving as chaperones! 1. Wow I thought that we would collect way under that amount of litter. I guess I was wrong.

  2. So who cares you helped clean the street thats good enough and the less the trash the less people are littering!
