Room 15 Update

It’s hard to believe the first trimester is already near its end; didn’t we just start school a couple weeks ago?  Conferences are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 25th, and Tuesday, Nov. 26th. If you haven’t yet done so, please schedule one by hitting that “Conferences” tab above. I’m looking forward to talking with you about your child’s strengths and weaknesses, and about what we need to do to prepare him or her for middle school and life in general.

In class this week students are finishing their fourth book club of the year, getting a new set of vocabulary words, starting new plays (focusing on Charles Dickens), and practicing long division. They’ll also be continuing their study of early-American settlement (Roanoke and Plymouth), working on their webpages, and much more. Here’s the math homework for this week: Tuesday, Nov. 12; Wednesday, Nov. 13; Thursday, Nov. 14.

Finally, I’m hoping we can work in one more Adopt-a-Street Clean-up before the weather turns truly sour–perhaps the morning of Thursday, Nov. 21st–but I need commitments from parents willing to help lead small groups. If you’re interested, please email me. Thanks!
