Room 15 Update for Nov. 2

Boys top ten at the SVMM, including 4 CPE kidsNow that the Mini-Marathon is behind us, we’ll be re-focusing on a variety of other tasks. Foremost on our list is that Parent-Teacher Conferences are just three weeks away. You can begin scheduling them now by clicking on the tab above entitled “Fall Conferences.” Simply scan the available times slots and then leave a comment or e-mail me with your preference. I’ll confirm with you electronically as well. I look forward to sitting down with each of you.

In class this week we’ll be finishing up our current Roald Dahl book clubs with daily quizzes based on homework reading, introducing a new bank of vocabulary words, and working on our class plays. Due to all the interruptions in our schedule, we’ve fallen a bit behind on on Peter Rabbit, Goosebumps, and Anton and Grace Hopper, but we hope to invite you in for a performance within the next two weeks. Meanwhile, in math we’re giving select pieces of the Engage New York curriculum another try. Bear with us as we review multi-column addition and subtraction using the ENY model. Here’s the homework for this week: Monday, Nov. 3; Tuesday, Nov. 4; Wednesday, Nov. 5; Thursday, Nov. 6.
