The Llama Report for March 4th

Br’er Rabbit: the Musical is officially scheduled for the All-School Awards Assembly next Thursday, March 11th, at 8:45 a.m.. Br’er performers can wear their costumes to school or change into them at the start of the day. We’ll again be asking for volunteers to help with face-painting between 7:45 and 8:45 a.m.. If you didn’t get to see the show at Literacy Night, do come out and watch. It will be one of the highlights of the year.

Room 15 kids have selected a new Nepalese student to sponsor. Read more about Riva below. And please send in your small change to see that she can attend school in Nepal.

We’re in the process of nominating students to attend Southern Oregon University’s Academy program. These nominees are selected based on a variety of factors including academics, citizenship, and social skills. Because the program is expensive, our PTO provides some support to make it more affordable. SOU also offers partial scholarships. We will contact individual families as soon as the nominees are announced.

Finally, congratulations to Sophie Quackenbush for being selected CPE’s Rotary Student-of-the Year, our highest academic honor. Sophie was presented with the award at a Rotary luncheon this week, and her name now adorns the Student-of-the-Year plaque in the CPE foyer. We’ll acknowledging or other nominees and finalists at an upcoming assembly. During the selection process, it was evident to all of us that CPE’s current 5th grade class is loaded with superstar students. We’re proud of all of them!
