The Sentence Isn’t Dead!

In a world of texting, tweeting, and error-filled e-mails, it’s nice to know the basic sentence is alive and well at Central Point Elementary. CPE intermediate students work hard to craft a single “Super Sentence” every morning (in addition to all the other writing they do).  This exercise reinforces sentence basics, introduces them to new tools (such as semi-colons and hyphens), and teaches them new structures (such as idioms and indirect quotations).  Click on the comments below to read this week’s Super Sentences from Room 15.

  2. My favorite place in the whole wide world is Disneyland because they have the most extreme rides.:p

  3. Kittens are the cutest thing you could ever see, because they do poop and pee in the house and they always grow up.

  4. About a year ago my Mom found four stray kittens but nobody claimed them so we still have the kittens to this day.

  5. When Madelyn went to Disneyland she went to every game in there and when she left she started to puke everywhere.

  6. I was told that I needed to come to the site and read Adrien’s sentence. I have done so and found it to be awesomely correct in my opinion.

  7. I truly belive that teachers should have to participate in the morning run yet they should have to get 3or 4 laps see how they like it.

  8. Greetings Mr.Lewis, today at soccer practice we played on a basketball court instead of the grass it was so much fun.
