While participation in yesterday’s Super Sentences session was better, students got up and left in the middle of it. Imagine if in the regular classroom you wrote down your sentence, dropped your Ticonderoga on the floor (like a mic drop), and then stormed out of the room. That’s what most of you are doing during Super Sentences.

The problem is, if you don’t stick around for the full session you won’t see what other people (including me) say about your sentence. Plus, you aren’t helping other people by giving them feedback. So… today I will be grading you based on the comments you leave other people. You must post your sentence and then stay in the session until the end. I’ll grade you based on the number and quality of the comments you leave.

Today you have a short reading activity from Storyworks about the history of the trampoline. No, the trampoline was NOT invented in the Wild West. Our history lesson has to do with cowboys and cattle drives. You also have a grammar activity (check out the bulldog wearing the cheesehead!), and the usual stuff: Room of Shadows, a literary terms journal entry, PE (pick a workout video), and of course, math.

We’re getting down to the nitty gritty in math. Today you have to put random fractions in order. It ain’t easy, so be prepared to watch the video multiple times and to ask questions when you get stuck.  For classwork you have Worksheet A, and for Homework you have Worksheet B.  This is leading up to our TEST, probably on Friday.

We also have a Mini Math sheet competition at 9:30, right AFTER Super Sentences. Madison won last week’s competition. She’s got a special treat coming her way.  The way to win is to do your whole Mini Math sheet first thing in the morning so that your answers are ready to go. That way, when I ask for an answer to a problem, you can quickly type it in rather than spend your time trying to solve it. The Mini Math sheet is in Classwork.

Keep working hard!
